Nestled on the coast, midway between from Bilbao and San Sebastián, it offers the perfect starting point for countless journeys along peaceful, scarcely traveled roads that wind through the picturesque regions of Bizkaia and Guipúzkoa.

Explore the coast and trails with the following routes:

1. Bike route from Lekeitio to Ondarroa: This approximately 13 km route takes you along the coast, on a winding road with little traffic, where you can enjoy beautiful sea views, passing through picturesque villages such as Mendexa and Mutriku. You’ll have the opportunity to stop at various points of interest, such as the hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.

2. Bike route to the heart of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve: Laga Beach: The route to Laga Beach covers approximately 16 km. You’ll pass through picturesque villages like Natxitua and Elantxobe before reaching the stunning Laga Beach. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit for a refreshing swim after the ride.

3. Bike route to the village of Ea: This approximately 10 km route will take you to the charming village of Ea. You can enjoy beautiful views of the river and sample the local cuisine at the village’s restaurants.

4. Bike route to Matxitxako Lighthouse: Spanning approximately 25 km, this route takes you to Matxitxako Lighthouse, located on the cape bearing the same name. You’ll be treated to stunning vistas of the Cantabrian Sea and the Basque coastline throughout the journey. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the viewpoint and interpretation center of the lighthouse.

5. Bike route through the authentic valleys of Bizkaia to Munitibar, a stop on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route.
